Why Wellness In the Workplace?5/22/2018
The American Journal of Health Promotion has reported that workers who take part in a corporate wellness program have fewer hospital admissions, shorter hospital stays, and overall lower costs. And to that point, an analysis done by Johnson & Johnson's leaders estimate that wellness programs have cumulatively saved the company $250 million on health care costs over the past decade; from 2002 to 2008, the return was about $2.71 for every dollar spent!
Wellness in the workplace can be very different from company to company but generally it may include ergonomic assessment, yoga or meditation on site, nutritional coaching, joyful movement, social and community gatherings and events. With so much time spent at the office these days, it’s important to incorporate healthy habits throughout the day such as good posture, eating well, and also feeling good physically and mentally!
